Teaching the Universe
Although it is one of the oldest sciences in history, astronomy is now a thoroughly modern discipline: in the last few decades, astronomers have learned more about the inner nature of the Universe than in five millennia. Our “Teaching the Universe" programme is intended to pass on this new knowledge to the young generation through their teachers.
Each year, researchers from the APC laboratory and other institutions offer a workshop to science teachers in the Ile-de-France region as part of the training programme provided by their academies. Immersed for a few days in the world of astroparticles and cosmology, the teachers are introduced to the latest discoveries and future perspectives of research. In addition to this theoretical training, there is also a practical training course during which we introduce various pedagogical tools developed by our team in collaboration with European pedagogical experts.
