By retracing the thread of cosmic particles, we will follow Anne Lemière and Sonia El Hedri in the discovery of the most powerful objects in our Universe. Stellar explosions, supermassive black holes… the very high energy particles emitted by these cosmic “monsters” provide us with precious information on their nature, their location, their intensity, giving us a whole new insight into the cosmos.
Our speakers:
- Anne Lemière is a CNRS researcher in the High Energy Astronomy group of the AstroParticle & Cosmology laboratory since 2008. She works on the origin of galactic cosmic rays, studying Supernova Remnants, Pulsar Wind Nebulae and the Galactic Centre region with making use of the gamma-ray observations of the H.E.S.S. and Cerenkov Telescope Array (CTA) instruments and of X-ray observations.
- Sonia El Hedri is a CNRS research fellow in the Particles group of the AstroParticle & Cosmology laboratory. She works in the KM3NeT experiment on the detection of cosmic neutrinos.
